Choo Choos employee Indianna Paull told: sunrise that Perry showed up on Saturday holding her one-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove.
The waitress, who didn’t recognize the Firework hitmaker at first because she was wearing a hat and sunglasses, the star told the star she would have to wait to be seated as no tables were available.
“She treated it like any normal person would, I think. She was very nice all the time and she treated it like a champ,” she said on Thursday.
“I think partly because I didn’t recognize her, it was because she was just so relaxed and chill about it.”
Paull said Perry approached her again and asked for a table, so she reluctantly sat the star in an area of the cafe not normally used.
“I made a fool of myself and said ‘for future reference, we usually don’t let people sit at this table’.”
A grateful Perry responded by saying she would be “extra nice.”
Paull said she didn’t realize she was serving one of the world’s greatest musicians until her manager introduced her to the superstar customer.
“I just turned red and went limp at the knees,” she said.
“Probably not necessary, but I felt like a fool, so I went to her table and apologized.
“I don’t know why, I was just shocked that I had acted like she was a casual Joe Blow!
“In retrospect, I think the reason she was so eager to come in is because people were running around taking pictures of her — I was so oblivious, I had no idea.”
Paull said she “couldn’t believe how nice” Perry was and confirmed that the singer left a tip that was “way more than the usual $2 we get in the bucket”.
“She asked for my name and had a chat with me and when she left she walked around the cafe and gave me a hug and was just really nice to everyone.
“It was crazy.”
The waitress told David Koch and Natalie Barr that reports from other media outlets that she was “arguing” with Perry were untrue and that the story had been “blown up” out of all proportion.
Katy and Orlando Down Under
It comes after Perry and Bloom were photographed last week arriving at Sydney airport before heading north on a private jet.
They brought their daughter and Bloom’s 11-year-old son Flynn, who he shares with ex Miranda Kerr, for the Aussie trip.
Bloom is expected to join comedian Pete Davidson and other stars on the set of Wizards! the upcoming months.
Announced earlier this year, local production of the new film was secured through $3.6 million in funding from the federal government’s Location Incentive Program.
The Queensland Government has also contributed an additional $1.183 million from its production attraction strategy.
The film follows two beach bar owners, played by Davidson and German actor Franz Rogowski, who get into trouble when they stumble upon stolen loot.
Prime Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk said the production was a “coup” for the state, injecting about $14.7 million into the local economy and creating about 100 jobs.
“Once again, our local film industry and perfect locations have lured in a new high-value production with big budgets to spend in our regions.”
